BMK’s journey began in 1988 in St. Louis, Missouri, as a synthetic bowling pin manufacturer for the leisure market. Our trajectory shifted from alleys to utility poles after a pivotal conversation between a BMK salesman and a neighbor employed by Texas Utilities (now TXU Energy).
During an era when the utility industry sought new pole setting and repair methods, traditional techniques were losing favor due to their time-consuming processes and frequent need for repairs. Our salesman’s insight into the potential of polyurethanes for utility poles sparked innovation at BMK. The result was Polecrete®, a groundbreaking product enabling quick and reliable utility pole installations.
The success of Polecrete® was immediate. It eliminated the need for specialized crews, setting rapidly in 15 minutes, and proved its durability in the field against erosion and other hazards. This innovation marked the beginning of our expansion into products tailored for varying pole weights and soil moisture levels, such as heavier-duty Polecrete® variants and our Padcrete™ for leveling utility pads.
Our innovation didn’t stop there. We’ve adapted our technology for the transportation industry with RSP™, a sprayable polyurethane for efficient pothole repairs, and introduced Postloc® to both commercial and consumer markets for easy, do-it-yourself projects.
Proudly American-made, BMK upholds a commitment to quality across a nationwide distributor network and international channels, continually advancing our product line to meet the evolving needs of the industries we serve.
